Terms of Service

Effective date: September 16, 2026

This is a working draft prepared for the product's current stage and has not yet been reviewed by legal counsel. Placeholder values in brackets (such as the legal entity name and support contact) must be filled in before this page is treated as final.

1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account or an organization workspace (“organization”) on Business Software, or by accepting an invitation to join one as a member or Client Portal user, you agree to these terms.

2. The service

Business Software is a multi-tenant business management application. Depending on which modules an organization has enabled, it may provide CRM, sales/proposals, projects, websites, invoicing, expenses, and reminders functionality, along with a separate Client Portal for an organization's own clients. Each organization's data is scoped to that organization.

3. Trial access

New organizations currently receive a 45-day full-product Trial with access to the currently shipped product, starting when the organization is created. The Trial does not require payment information, and we do not charge you when the Trial ends.

What happens to an organization's access after the Trial period ends is determined by our then-current product policy at that time; this document will be updated to describe that behavior once it is implemented. An organization's Trial does not automatically convert to a paid plan or to a “Free” plan.

4. Billing

Business Software does not currently collect payment information, process payments, or run paid subscriptions. If and when paid plans are introduced, these terms will be updated to describe pricing, billing, and renewal before any payment is collected.

5. Accounts and organizations

You're responsible for the accuracy of information you provide and for activity that happens under your account. Organization owners and admins are responsible for managing who has access to their organization and at what permission level.

6. Your data

Data an organization enters into Business Software — including CRM records, sales/proposal content, project and task data, invoices, expenses, and Client Portal content — belongs to that organization. We access it only as needed to operate, secure, and support the product. See our Privacy Policy for more detail.

7. Client Portal

Where an organization enables Client Portal access for its own clients, that access is governed by a separate authorization boundary from organization members and is limited to what the inviting organization has shared.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to access data belonging to an organization you're not a member of.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the service.
  • Reverse engineer the product except as permitted by law.

9. Termination

You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for conduct that violates these terms or that we reasonably believe poses a risk to the service or other organizations.

10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is” while it is under active development. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of any kind, and our liability arising from your use of the service is limited as permitted by applicable law.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. We'll update the effective date above when we do, and material changes affecting billing will be communicated before any payment is collected.

12. Governing law

[Governing jurisdiction — to be finalized by owner/legal review].
